2025 TEAM EVENT (17th)
Donnington Valley Sunday 18 - Monday 19 May Entries closed. All teams informed. 2024 TEAM EVENT (16th) Donnington Valley Sunday 12 - Monday 13 May 76 ladies arrived at Donnington with the prospect of potentially getting wet as the forecast was not at all favourable. However, the day turned out to be one of the best days we have had this year with brilliant sunshine and lots of roll on the ball. The course was challenging but some of the ladies clearly found it easier than others as there were quite a few scores in the 90s. Dinner was a fun affair with the meeting of old friends and the making of new. The excellent meal was accompanied by lots of laughter resounding around the dining room and concluded with an amusing address by our Lady Chair, Claire. Monday however, we awoke to an overcast sky and what a difference a day made as it was chilly and some ladies resorted to their woolly hats.!! Despite conditions, the top scores were even higher than the previous day’s. Prior to the prize giving everyone enjoyed beautifully presented sandwiches with edible flowers accompanied by bowls of chips. Woodbury Park Golf Course Sunday 14 - Monday 15 May 2023 The Team Event took place at Woodbury Park where despite it being a little wet underfoot due to the recent flash floods, the weather was warm and kind to all 84 ladies who attended. It was the usual meeting of old friends but there were several new teams and quite a few ladies who had never participated previously. Playing off the Silver forward tees, the first day’s golf produced some very good scores but the wind on the second day made it a little challenging or perhaps it was the late night before? There were a record number of 2’s scored and it took quite a while to present them all! At the dinner on Sunday evening, on behalf of everyone, Claire Biggs presented Sandra Ford with a bouquet of flowers in appreciation for her inspiration and leadership of the Somerset Ladies Past Captains’ Society. Sandra is stepping down as she is moving onwards to be County President and we wish her every success in her new role.
