I could just copy and paste last year's weather forecast for the day. We awoke to heavy rain, thunder and lightning with the course closed. However, good fortune turned that around, so by the time the players teed off at 1.30, the threat was gone. It did however, rain intermittently, with wind and a chill factor, so conditions were... challenging!
Tables were turned from last year's results where the same two teams met. This time, Taunton & Pickeridge won 4 of the matches, with a 5th being a draw, not needing to go up the first again as the victory was already in the bag. Congratulations to T&P who have been in the final for the last three years.
Commiserations to Stockwood Vale who put up a good fight for a very small women's section.
A huge thank you goes to The Mendip who were able to host the final with little notice, as the planned venue of T&P, with Stockwood Vale as a spare was not sign to work with both teams in the final. The post-match tea and cake selection was thoroughly appreciated by all.
And thanks to Jeanette Cook & James Wilde, our referees for the day, and Sandra Ford for starting the matches and presenting the trophies.

After heavy rain, with the forecast threatening to throw thunder & lightning our way, we were very relieved to be able to play this exciting final without having to stop for bad weather. The matches were mixed, with some finishing on the 13th, others going to the 17th. In the end, Stockwood Vale won 5:2 against last year's runners-up, Taunton & Pickeridge. This is the first time in the centenary of this event that Stockwood Vale has won which is a huge accolade to their team picked from their small club women's section.
