ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
THURSDAY 17 OCTOBER 2024
TAUNTON & PICKERIDGE gc
Somerset Senior Ladies held their AGM and 9 hole Bowmaker at Taunton & Pickeridge GC on 17 October.
Thanks to Emma Smith, the Ladies’ Captain for her welcome and acting as Starter. Thanks also to T&P Delegate, Marlene Ewens, and to Lennox Heath and Janet Kingston. Caroline Lumley-Frank again did the Ball Draw; thank you! They have been held at the other Seniors’ Competitions and SW Vets Competitions . £650 has been raised for the Children’s Hospice South West over the last 2 years. The weather leading up to the day was so wet that it looked as though it might have to be cancelled. However, it dried up enough and the day itself was sunny and warm. The Green staff did a magnificent job with the Course and there were only 2 Temporary Greens. No one minded that the bunkers were GUR! The Putting green was partially closed but it was possible to devise a 9 hole course for the competition. The AGM took place before the golf. There was quite a good attendance. The meeting reflected on the year’s golf, voted in the new Officers, acknowledged the Prize winners of the 3 Competitions and presented the Club Shield to Wheathill. Congratulations to the incoming President, Chris Harris of Saltford and the new Captain, Gill McGrath of Wells. We wish them a happy and successful year. I have enjoyed my year as President and it has been an honour to do it. Thank you for your support and friendship. Please sign up for the Competitions and Matches in 2025. Jill Paul |

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
THURSDAY 19 OCTOBER 2023
MINEHEAD GOLF CLUB
The Somerset Senior Ladies held their AGM and 9- hole Bowmaker at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club.
The day proved an enjoyable experience for those ladies who did not get caught in the heavy rain. I must say a big thank you to the ladies who drove a fair, few miles to reach Minehead and then had to endure the pouring rain at times. It was with great pleasure that we named two new Honorary Members for Somerset Senior Ladies, Yvette Gregg from Stockwood Vale and Carole Paterson from Long Sutton. Both over the years have been Captain and President, they have worked extremely hard for the benefit of the members of Somerset Senior Ladies. I do hope you will support your new President Jill Paul from Taunton & Pickeridge and your new Seniors Captain Ros Chidgey from Minehead, both very capable ladies. Thank you for your support in 2023, I do hope many of you will enter the competitions & matches in 2024. Enjoy your golf, Kay Luckett (Past- President) |

annual general meeting
monday 10 october 2022
long sutton golf club
Long Sutton Golf Club hosted the 2022 SCSLGA AGM and 9 hole Bowmaker.
Long Suttons Ladies Captain Aideen Roche gave our association a very warm welcome and she as with many other volunteers supported the event throughout the day. What beautiful weather we had for early October. 17 teams of 3 played in the main event and all the ladies took part in the separate putting competition. Long Sutton is rated as one of the most difficult courses in Somerset and some of the scores reflected that. The winning team, Sylvie Coache-Tucker, Aideen Roche and Tina Blackwell scored 36points , all from the home club. The AGM was extremely well attended, members of the senior section travelled from all across Somerset. Despite covid affects continuing to affect some events through 2022 , overall a very successful year for Senior golf in Somerset. Carole Paterson ( Long Sutton GC President 2022 handed over to Kate Luckett Minehead GC to lead the County Seniors through 2023. Senior Captain Christine Harris Saltford GC. handed over the Captaincy to Sue Bamping Wheathill GC. Out going President Carole Paterson wished all the Committee members new and continuing a very successful 2023. |
