SOUTH WEST VETS SPRING FIELD DAY 9 MAY 2024
After such terrible Spring weather we were delighted to have a warm, sunny day for the SW Vets Spring Field day at Yeovil GC organised by Somerset Senior Ladies.
More than 50 ladies took part. The Course was in good condition but not easy, which was reflected in the scores. The ladies were hot when they came in as they weren’t used to those conditions this year. However, they came in smiling and many stayed to eat; there was a buzz of conversation.
Days like this don’t just happen. Carole Paterson collected all the entries and sorted the tee times, then sat at the desk with Jill Paul (Chairman) to welcome ladies and hand out cards, then collected them in afterwards.
There were no 2s so that money, along with the Ball Draw money, will be donated to the Children’s Hospice South West. This amounted to £180. Thanks to Caroline Lumley-Frank for doing the Ball Draw.
Most ladies were able to stay for the Prize-giving.
Thanks go to Kay Luckett, Gill Magrath, Chris Harris, Sue Bamping, for acting as Starters and taking photos around the Course.
Special thanks to Sandra Ford, the Somerset County President, who loaded all the information on her computer in advance, producing the labels for the scorecards, then entering all the scores at the end. A big task.
Thanks to all the ladies from around the South West for supporting this. It’s good to get together.
