BOWMAKER RESULTS 2019
The day was wet, windy and cool but 60 ladies bravely set out from the first tee at Bath Golf Club for the County Bowmaker.
One team withdrew on the 7th hole due to injury, but the remaining 57 battled on in frequent torrential showers with the cream of Bath GC rising to the top. Stephanie Moorfoot, Anita Bye and Veronica Creed (pictured on the right with Vice President, Linda Hill) amassing an excellent 73 points off 90% handicap in very trying conditions, a clear 9 points ahead of second placed team of Angie Frith, Samantha Robinson and Louise Buxton who scored 64 points, also from Bath. Only two 2’s were achieved, Honor Jones, Bath and Helen Clarke, Worlebury both on hole 14. Thanks to Samantha Robinson, Bath County Delegate, for all her hard work before and after the competition, her daughter Charlotte who raised £160 by selling raffle tickets, the proceeds of which will be shared between Bath Ladies Captains Charity and the County Juniors, and Andy Robinson who stood in the rain for 3 ½ hours starting all the teams. Thanks also to the Ladies who assisted on the reception desk, wrote up the results board, provided flowers, the Office staff for their input, the caterers for keeping us fed and watered but especially the green keepers who presented the course in a playable condition despite the unseasonable weather.
