Somerset Ladies County Bowmaker held at Wells Golf Club on 31st May 2024
A full field of seventy-eight women competed in this ever popular event, in warm dry weather, a relief for all after such a wet spring. Thank you so much to Katrina (County Delegate) for helping to ensure this all ran smoothly, and to Phillippa (Ladies Captain) & Mary for helping with Starter duties. Thanks also to Paul (Club Manager) for being very accommodating when fixing this event and the catering staff for ensuring we were all provided with good sustenance.
Comments from competitors were that the course is lovely but the going was tough, with so much rain recently and lots seemed flummoxed by the greens, hence scoring was not high.

BOWMAKER RESULTS 2023

Somerset Ladies County Bowmaker held at Worlebury Golf Club on 15th June 2023
Sixty-nine women played in scorching heat at the very welcoming Worlebury golf club. A huge thank you goes to Janet Fear, County Delegate extraordinaire, Carol Cockeram Ladies Captain and the Ladies Committee for helping the event to run so smoothly. The course was in great condition considering the drought of the last three weeks, fairways being somewhat tough with the parched ground and the greens were excellent. The catering staff provided specials that were available to pre-order so there was no delay in getting sustenance after melting in the still heat of the day.
