Friendly Match v Gloucester 0n 12th May 2023 at Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club
The journey to Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club was relatively easy apart from the last 300yds which were up the side of a very steep hill, hence the name. The picturesque Cotswold Way runs partly through the Course, with beautiful views over the River Severn. The day was fine but with a gentle cool breeze, and fortunately no rain.
There had been a lot of changes to both teams prior to the match, despite this, both Captains were able to field a full team. Although Somerset lost overall, with just one win, quite a few of the other games were only resolved in the last few holes.
The hospitality at the Club was excellent with a delicious meal. Everybody seemed to have enjoyed the day judging by the friendly chatter around the tables.
