Somerset County Senior Ladies travelled to Bulbury Woods on Wednesday 29th May for their second shield match of the season.
The weather was kind to us again with just a couple of showers to contend with and the course looked good although a little damp in places. Once again it was a very close match with Somerset losing out 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 although I must say everyone enjoyed the contest. Ros Chidgey Senior Ladies Captain |

Tuesday 27th June 2023 Shield against Dorset at Wheathill G.C.
A cool grey day dawned on Tuesday 27th June at Wheathill Golf Club for the start of the Shield Match against Dorset.
The Somerset team was made up of players from nine different clubs. It was a well fought contest with four matches being so close they could have gone either way. Unfortunately, however, they went Dorset’s way so Somerset lost 6-1.
Despite the grey skies and the gloomy result for Somerset, there was a good atmosphere in the Club House afterwards, during the meal.
