Somerset Senior ladies entertained Devon Senior Ladies in their shield match at Minehead, the weather was cloudy and the last match managed to get back to the clubhouse before the rain really took over. What a great result for Somerset winning the match 5 1/2 to 1 1/2, I was so proud of all the ladies that played well done. Ros Chidgey Senior Ladies' Captain |

Despite road closures and the distance some had to travel, most ladies arrived with time to spare before their tee time.
While waiting to tee off the brollies were opened and some of the ladies huddled in the starter’s hut, to emerge only when they needed to tee off! Fortunately, the rain did not last the whole morning. Many of the matches were very close, in fact one was lost on the 18th, and three other matches were lost in the last three holes. The highlight of the day was when Tricia Folland had a hole in one on the Second, much to her surprise. Unfortunately, the rain started again as the last few teams were coming in. Once everyone had dried out, we had a delicious meal which included the fabulous desserts that Honiton are known for. Sue Bamping Senior Ladies' Captain |
